CIBO's Post Lap-Band Surgery Program
At CIBO Clinic, we have one goal in mind: your life-long weight loss success.
And so, once you have had your Lap-Band surgery, we provide the medical, nutritional, psychological, fitness and educational support you need for your weight loss success.Your comprehensive post Lap-Band care program is tailored to your individual needs. Here’s the team and the resources that will support you during your post-operative phase.
Doctors
Due to restrictions with the College of Physicians & Surgeons, bariatric clinic websites are not permitted to include information about doctors. Please contact us for more information about our qualified fellowship trained bariatric surgeons.
Nurses
Our nurses are with you, monitoring you through the post-operative recovery period on your day of Lap-Band surgery. Our nurses perform your Lap-Band adjustments when you come in for your follow-up appointments. And CIBO Clinic's nurses are always on hand to offer explanations, education, reinforcement, recognition, and trouble-shooting.
Nutritionist
CIBO Clinic’s nutritionist will work with you to develop post gastric band food and nutrition strategies. The ideas behind the strategies are to develop healthy eating patterns and a holistic wellness program for you. At CIBO Clinic, we customize your post-operative diet to your food preferences and ethnic origin.
Psychotherapist
At CIBO Clinic, we’ve learned that weight loss is not just about the food. Successful, long term weight loss involves emotional and psychological work on your part. Our psychotherapist is here to help you manage and resolve any emotional hurdles you may encounter during your weight loss phase and management period – whenever you need support.
Chiropractor/Kinesiologist
CIBO Clinic’s chiropractor will conduct an assessment of your musculoskeletal system and the effects of any disorders on the function of your nervous system and general health. Fitness and mobility evaluations will also be conducted to assess your fitness level and develop appropriate programs designed to reduce injury that might occur if you attempt activities beyond your physical capability.
He will also assess your fitness level and monitor your activity program, which is designed to limit injuries, encourage strength development, increase mobility and health. As a motivator and coach who focuses on health issues, he will help you learn how to exercise and adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle while you lose weight, become slim, healthy and strong with the Lap-Band.
Patient Services
Nisrine Shammas, CIBO Clinic's Director of Patient Services, oversees the development of your program with the CIBO Clinic Patient Services team and integrates the elements of our support program to suit your individual needs. From your intake, to interviews to answering questions and just spending time with you, they provide caring support and guidance.
Educational Seminars
After Lap-Band surgery, you will find that you are constantly “in transition” as you continue to lose weight. You’re becoming the new you and during the weight loss journey you’ll have new questions coming up.
Of course, we can answer those questions for you on an individual basis. But we also think that it’s helpful for you to meet other people who are working through their weight loss journey – and asking similar questions to you.
That’s why we run seminars on obesity, weight loss and healthy lifestyle issues. Our seminars provide mutual support to you and to provide educational resources in a friendly, warm environment. We hope that you will plan on coming out!
